Your bank statement images are processed entirely on your device using Tesseract.js. They are never uploaded to our servers. We never see your financial data. Ever.
ChargeCatch collects minimal information:
Email address (optional): Only if you voluntarily submit it via our email capture form. Used to send you cancel script summaries and renewal reminders.
Payment information: Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details.
Pro status: Stored as a cryptographically signed token in your browser's localStorage. Contains only a session identifier and expiration — no personal data.
We do not collect, upload, or process:
• Your bank statement images or screenshots
• Your transaction history or financial data
• Your bank login credentials (we never ask for them)
• Your IP address (beyond standard server logs)
• Browsing behavior or analytics data
When you upload a bank statement screenshot, ChargeCatch uses Tesseract.js — an open-source OCR library that runs entirely inside your web browser using WebAssembly. Your image is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server, including ours.
The only network requests made during scanning are to download the Tesseract language data files from a public CDN (cdn.jsdelivr.net). Your image data is not part of these requests.
We use browser localStorage to store your Pro subscription status (a signed token). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. When you upgrade, you are redirected to Stripe's secure checkout page. We receive confirmation of payment status only — no card details.
If you are in California (CCPA) or the EU/UK (GDPR), you have the right to:
• Request deletion of any personal data we hold (email address only)
• Request a copy of data we hold about you
• Opt out of any future communications

Email addresses are retained until you request deletion. We do not retain financial data because we never receive it.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ChargeCatch after changes constitutes acceptance.
